Kim Rey, Fall 1998 through Spring 1999. Her research project was "Effects of rural and urban effluents on the water quality of the Rio Conchos (northern Mexico). with emphasis on trace elements and salinity".

Her work included the analysis and statistical evaluation of previously existing water quality data. The results of her investigation were presented at "Geography Awareness Week" at Missouri State on Nov 16-20, 1998.
