Our undergraduate planning program has had an advisory board for several years, and that group has been instrumental in the development and accreditation of that program.  Last year, we expanded that group by adding representatives of all our other programs to form an advisory board for the entire department.  That combined group met for the second time this past October, in conjunction with the 2007 Missouri State University Homecoming Celebration.  They are currently in the process of deciding upon a formal structure, complete with a mission statement and bylaws, that will allow this advisory board to support our department and its programs for many years to come.  Laurali Carroll (B.S.-Geography, 1995) has “volunteered” to serve as facilitator for the first phase of the organizational effort.
