Student Opportunities and Services
Do you enjoy learning outside the classroom? Many of our courses include field trips, giving you the opportunity to learn the principles of geology and geography through practice.
Our annual spring break field trip has traveled to the Southern Appalachian Mountains, Colorado Plateau, the Florida Keys and California. In these trips, you will see the principles of geology put into practice as you explore each of these geographic areas.
Internships provide opportunities for direct observation and on-the-job learning. Interns obtain practical working experience in a variety of areas:
- Area analysis
- Data collection and interpretation
- Regional study
- Travel and tourism
Our students are also required to complete a senior seminar, which provides career guidance and assistance with preparing job search materials.
Are you looking to get involved at Missouri State? Our department sponsors several organizations to connect you with your classmates and to foster involvement on campus:
